Bits & Pieces

Links and Snippets of articles, videos etc. that are just “Bits & Pieces” but that have a profound (well, sometimes profound, sometimes fun) message.

This is just such an easy share with you, the image says it all.

As my regular readers know, I am heavily involved in the Convention of States movement and this video recently resurfaced and I felt compelled to share with all of you. It is a bit old but is still so very true and even relevant! Have a look, perhaps have a look at the COS website and get involved. Our country is at stake!

“AMERICA DOESN’T TRUST YOU ANYMORE"

After years of working from inside Congress to try and rein in the corruption he saw, Senator Tom Coburn realized that Congress would never fix itself.

He believed that calling an Article V convention was our nation’s last, best hope of reining in the runaway power of the federal government. So he gave up his seat in Congress and spent the remaining years of his life traveling the nation and meeting with state legislators, urging them to pass the COS Resolution and call an Article V convention.

He regularly called it the most important work of his lifetime. When he passed, we set up the Tom Coburn Memorial Fund in his honor, empowering the grassroots to pick up where he left off, using the funds to push toward securing victories in the remaining states needed to call a convention.

We now have 19 passed states under our belt, and your generous contribution today will enable us to continue carrying the torch of liberty in Tom’s honor and see this mission through to the end.

Together, we CAN and WILL drain the swamp — permanently!

To those who would like more Federal Government (overreach) in this country. These are the Federal Government‘s responsibilities as explicitly outlined in the U.S. Constitution.

  1. Defense - To provide for the common defense.

  2. International Relations - To conduct foreign policy, negotiate treaties, and recognize foreign governments.

  3. Regulating Commerce - To regulate interstate and international commerce.

  4. Currency - To coin money and regulate its value.

  5. Post Offices and Roads - To establish post offices and post roads.

  6. Immigration - To establish a uniform rule of naturalization.

  7. Bankruptcy Laws - To establish uniform laws about bankruptcies.

  8. Intellectual Property - To promote the progress of science and useful arts by securing copyrights and patents.

  9. Federal Courts - To constitute tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court.

  10. War and Peace - To declare war, grant letters of marque and reprisal, and make rules concerning captures on land and water.

  11. Army and Navy - To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years; to provide and maintain a navy.

  12. Militia - To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections, and repel invasions; to provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the militia.

  13. Federal District - To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over the District of Columbia.

  14. Necessary and Proper - To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this Constitution in the government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof.

These responsibilities are primarily derived from Articles I and II of the U.S. Constitution, which outline the powers of Congress and the President, respectively. Seems to me that our government has gone WAY beyond these 14 specific responsibilities.

B&P #16 ~ Any of you who have visited Restore First Principles for a while know that I’m a big Victor Davis Hansen fan. I came across this short today and it says a great deal about where the USA is headed as it follows Europe down the rabbit hole. Let Victor explain, he is so much better at it than I am… It’s only 7 minutes and well worth the time.

B&P #15 ~ I had a long talk/debate with a young man after church last week and he was adamant that Joe Biden was every bit the man that he ever was and that Joe Biden and Donald Trump were equal regarding acuity and capability. Please know that I VERY thoroughly enjoyed this talk, this young man was highly intelligent, had (has) incredible recall of facts and figures, and was very well-spoken and polite. The best part was that we debated and didn’t just argue. I felt we both made points and supported them with facts and overall made it an enjoyable time even if we disagreed on a few things.

That said I took up the challenge to show the difference between Joe Biden of 10 years ago and today. I didn’t feel the need to try to compare Donald Trump with Joe Biden or to show any acuity decline of Trump’s. I just haven’t seen any such decline. Here you go A&A…

Here is a video from the Vice Presidential Debate between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan in 2012. Joe looks very much on target and sharp as a tack here. Please pay close attention to the way Joe speaks, the focus in his eyes, and his awareness of everything that is going on around him. Keep that in mind as you start the video below.

It didn’t take long to find a more recent video of Joe Biden (a compilation) and it's easy to see the mental decline and possibly even the symptoms of Alzheimer’s. Again compare Joe’s mental state in 2023 (below) vs in 2012 (above).

If you can view these two videos and still say that Joe Biden is as sharp and capable as ever, well I don’t think you’re being honest with yourself. And PLEASE keep in mind that he is the most powerful man in the world. Think Nuclear Arsenal!

B&P #14 ~ This one is self-explanatory my friends. Try not to get too angry as you read through it…

B&P #13 ~ You’ve certainly heard the debate recently about whether the USA is a Democracy or a Constitutional Republic. Have a look at this video by Dan Smoot titled “A Republic, Not A Democracy” from 4/18/1966. Even if you only get through the first minute you’ll understand, but I highly recommend hearing it through… Mr. Smoot was WAY ahead of his time!

B&P #12 ~ At Founding.com, while reading about our founding fathers and the events that led to the beginnings of this great nation, I found this section titled "Founding Timeline" which I wanted to share. Click the link (the dates) for each of these sections and the site gives some very in-depth information, some of which I had never heard before. Share this, especially with young people because "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it ~~ George Santayana".

1763-1769 King George encroaches on the independence of the colonies through taxation without representation

1770-1774 Increased tension between the British and the Colonies leads to violence, governmental action and revolutionary prose

1775 The beginning of the War of Independence

1776-1780 The Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation are introduced while major battles are fought in the war

1781-1782 The ratification of the Articles of Confederation and the conclusion of the war

1783-1786 The first few years as a new nation

1787-1791 The meeting of the Constitutional Conventional and the ratification process.

B&P #11 ~ Seems I like VDH and once again I have come across a short video of his titled “Brace Yourself for What's Coming in 2024” that will send shivers down your spine. It’s a mere 10:33 long, slightly longer than the time it takes to read the majority of RFPs posts so no excuses, give it a listen.

Personally, I think that the left is beginning to get VERY nervous, especially considering what an incredibly weak kneed and incapable POTUS candidate they appear to be stepping to the plate with (I have doubts that it’ll actually be Biden but that’s for another day). Remember this quote from Jeff Childers and his Substack site titled “Coffee & Covid 2023”: Fury of the silent majority is driving a global Right-wing counter-revolution.It’s coming my friends; you can feel it if you stop and focus…

B&P #10 ~ Victor Davis Hanson, found here on the American Greatness website gives a very in-depth overview of the "Woke" movement and the decline that it is experiencing (FINALLY!) in an article titled “The Impending Thermidor Reaction in Jacobin America”.

Personally I believe this man is one of the most intelligent individuals in this country as a American Classicist, Military Historian and Political Commentator and we should all pay very close attention to what he has to say.

A counterrevolution is building, not just because people are angry at what has become of their country, but because they now are learning that if they do nothing, they will have no country—and soon.

Please Re-Read that last bit of the sentence above; because it is SO very true. Join the fight my friends; We ARE the majority and if we stand together, we can Restore First Principles!

B&P #9 ~ You can vote in socialism, but you have to shoot your way out ~ Margaret Thatcher

B&P #8 ~ According to Lord Tytler, a Scottish Historian, the average age of the world's democracies is around 200 years. After two hundred years, the nations collapse due to various economic policies and be followed by a dictatorship. Lord Tytler identified "Eight Stages of a Democracy", from beginning to end.

The eight stages are:

  1. from bondage to spiritual faith

  2. from spiritual faith to great courage

  3. from courage to liberty

  4. from liberty to abundance

  5. from abundance to complacency

  6. from complacency to apathy

  7. from apathy to dependence

  8. from dependence back to bondage

Our universe always moves in cycles, and history is no different. So which stage do you suppose the United States is in? RFP is suggesting that we are at stage #7, “apathy to dependence”. Another Democratic in office in 2024 will likely push us directly into stage #8.

Just something to think about as you decide if you want to get involved in this fight. And YES, it IS a fight for the very survival of this great nation. Just saying!

B&P #7 ~ I came across this short video via a Substack post by a favored author of mine named Michael Eades at his Substack page titled "The Arrow" that deals with "A Critical Look at Nutritional Science and Whatever Else Strikes My Fancy". Dr. Eades’s Substack is definitely worth a review as it is informative and often humorous.

The first "article" of this post, “The Arrow #143” is the above referenced video featuring the late Justice Antonin Scalia speaking about the United State Constitution. It’s less than 8 minutes and very much worth the viewing time, it’ll definitely get you thinking!

Since Justice Scalia references the “Full Federalist Papers” here is a link so none of us have any excuses for having not read them in their entirety. Long but so worth it! Federalist Papers: Primary Documents in American History

B&P #6 ~ Just a little group of statements that I came across that struck me as SO VERY TRUE that I wanted to share:

  • You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

  • What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

  • The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

  • You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

  • When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Seems to me that many on the left believe the opposite of these statements. Keep this in mind next time you cast a ballot for any/all politicians and assure yourself that they are on the right side of these topics. Just saying!

B&P #5 ~ A loyal RFP follower sent this Instagram Link to RFP and we absolutely HAD to share it with all of you! I laughed so hard I almost cried. Have a look and enjoy! Democratic Support Line or click the image below

B&P #4 ~ Isn't this a clear sign that Government is Too Big and Out of Control!

  • Pythagorean theorem: 24 words

  • The Lord's Prayer: 66 words

  • Archimedes' Principle: 67 words

  • The Ten Commandments: 179 words

  • The Gettysburg Address: 286 words

  • The Declaration of Independence: 1,300 words

  • The United States Constitution: 4,543 words (including signatures)

  • The New Testament: 7,957 verses

  • Public laws passed by Congress PER YEAR (average last 20 years) > 6,900 pages

  • U.S. Government regulations on the sale of cabbage: 26,911 words

B&P #3 ~ In a recent post I referenced an article by Jeff Childers in which there was a bit of text: “Fury of the silent majority is driving a global Right-wing counter-revolution.” I thought about that post and bit of text when a friend sent me this B&P which really does shout that the "Silent Majority" will no longer stay quiet!

I never cared: I never cared if you were “gay" until you started shoving it in my face, and the faces of our children. I never cared what color you were, until you started blaming my race for your problems. I never cared about your political affiliation until you started to condemn me for mine. I never cared where you were born until you wanted to erase my history and blame my ancestors for your current problems. I never cared if you were well-off or poor, until you said you were discriminated against, when I was promoted because I worked harder. I never cared if your beliefs were different from mine, until you said my beliefs were wrong. I never cared if I owned a gun until you told me I wouldn’t be allowed to. (or take the ones I own legally). Now I care! My patience and tolerance are gone. I’m not alone in feeling this way; there are millions of us who do...... and we have had enough!

B&P #2 ~ This B&P is a couple of years old now (written before "Joe" was elected) but seems to have been very much "on the mark"!

To those of you who voted for Biden. You had better own it for the next four years if he wins (its looking like he may). I don't want to hear you complain about your taxes going up or gas prices doubling. I don't want you to complain when your health insurance cost go up even further than they already are. Don't complain when you bring home less on your paycheck because you're being penalized for climate justice. Don't complain when you lose your job because 15 million illegal immigrants suddenly become legal, and your employer decides to hire someone at a lower wage. Don't complain when your job is just out right eliminated because the minimum wage is to high and your employer can no longer afford to stay open or even pay you. Don't complain when your automotive or industrial job is eliminated because its shipped back to China. Don't complain when interest rates double or even triple and homes/automobiles are not as affordable as they use to be. Don't complain when your stocks and 401k take a massive hit. Don't complain when we are locked into more endless wars in the middle east. Don't complain when your otherwise safe communities are overrun by crime and start resembling Chicago, Portland, Seattle, and Baltimore. Don't complain when the educational system goes down and higher education becomes unaffordable. You obviously didn't vote your paycheck or your future. You voted your feelings. Unfortunately, facts don't care about your feelings, and you will soon (sadly) learn this under a Biden/Harris administration. Just own it. Also, when the new administration makes a play for all of our legally owned weapons don't look to me for support, safety, or compliance. I will be fighting to the death to defend my GOD GIVEN 2nd Amendment rights...

B&P #1 ~ Have a look at this video on Rumble, it’s only 8:44 minutes and is quite revealing.

Ken Paxton Talking About Voter Fraud in Texas and What he Was Able to do About It!

Paxton (Attorney General of Texas) makes an interesting point. He says that in the 2016 election Trump had almost the same margin of victory in Georgia as he had in Texas. Which makes sense, if you think about. Both Texas and Georgia are red states with similar demographics. But in 2020—after Paxton killed the 12 attempts at indiscriminate mail-in voting—Trump won Texas by about the same margin as 2016 whereas he barely lost in Georgia, which had mail-in voting.

Mail-in voting is rife with the potential for cheating. And as long as it is allowed, we will never have safe and secure elections. Mail In Balloting makes it possible for the "other side" to cheat, plain and simple!
